This week K-touch launched a new brand with a new flagship smartphone, which has now been confirmed to support both TD-SCDMA and WCDMA networks.
The Nibiru Mars H1 might have a silly name, but the price and specification is far from laughable. Costing a mere 998 Yuan in China ($165), the Mars H1 not only packs the latest 1.7Ghz Mediatek Octacore processor, but also 2GB RAM, 5 mega-pixel front camera, 13 mega-pixel rear and even a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display!
Gizchina News of the week
At the time of launch it was only clear that the Nibiru Mars H1 would support China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA, however today the company confirmed this low-cost super phone will also work on WCDMA 3G networks too.

The first day of sales for the Mars H1 in China is the 24th March, we expect whatever stock K-touch have prepared is not going to be enough to satisfy demand.

Will it work on t-mobile in the US? 3g/4g I mean.
How much will this cost for us buyers and where is the link where we can order it from? English please, English. This web site needs to put a little tab at the top that says English, so I can click on it 🙁
You can preorder from here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/nibiru-H1-Preorder-Octacore-MTK6592H-1-7Ghz-K-Touch-H1-NEw-arrive-phone-high-quality-2GRAM/1712317479.html As you can see the price for it is $227.00
It is in English. I’m not sure how much this’ll cost for us, but my guesstimate is around $200-235. Where to buy it, however, is the main problem. You should ask on the MTKforums, people there have more experience in purchasing items from China than I do.
When I clicked on the link, it brought me to a site that looks to be Chinese. Of course I could use google translate. Also if the price goes any higher then $180 a piece, I won’t make much of a profit. These phones don’t support usa 4G, unless I’m wrong.
It does support WCDMA, but only after a ROM update. Like XiaoMi, you need to register your interest first and hope to get a set when it is released.
