Xiaomi’s Redmi Note has been confirmed to go on sale in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong in May at a starting price of $129.
In a Google+ post, Hugo Barra confirmed specifications for two versions of the Xiaomi Redmi Note and also announced the pricing and a May launch date for Singapore, HongKong and Thailand.

Two version of the Redmi Note exist, a 1GB RAM version with 1.4Ghz octacore processor which will cost $129 and a 2GB RAM 1.7Ghz octacore for $159. Both phones have a large 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 display, dual SIM cards, 3200mAh battery, 13 mega-pixel main camera and 5 mega-pixel front camera.
Barra also hinted that other markets will soon bet receiving the Redmi Note after May. Where will Xiaomi hit next?

Huawei has lowered the price of Honor 3X to match the price of Redmi Note, it’s an interesting alternative if you don’t want to wait months.
If the Redmi Note is going on sale almost 2 months later in these places, how long do we have to wait for the WCDMA version?
The Redmi Note will only be sold outside China in WCDMA versions. So the answer is May 2014 earliest…
