Xiaomi have set the trend again with their Redmi Note, now copycat devices are cropping up everywhere, but some of these models actually look better than the original.
Mlais also announced their octacore Note phone this week, and the specification surpass those offered by the Xiaomi Redmi Note. Similarties between the Mlais Note Pro and Redmi Note include the 5.5-inch 720 display, 1.7Ghz octacore processor and 2GB RAM, the rest of the hardware is heavily stacked in Mlais’ favour though.
Gizchina News of the week
The Note Pro boasts a 5 mega-pixel front camera, 14 mega-pixel rear, 16GB internal storage, NFC and 3200mAh battery all crammed in to a body measuring just 7.2mm!
Mlais are offering 5000 Mlais Note Pro’s for preorder to Chinese customers from 26th March.

Preferably 900mhz…
I don’t know chinese, but the text from the image says: 8mp front camera, 13mp rear camera and 7.5mm body… It says Note Pro so that is the phone…
please update about this phone later. When international ready.
Hi Andi,
Can you please review the phone and also where it’s available with low cost.
just got one from Beijing. It works like a charm but there are some minor issues. i.e. chinese characters in calendar app, some ‘bloatware’ probably useful for chinese/mandarin speakers.
Last couple of days, my experience is good. Especially the screen is good for the price. Performance, I don’t see any big difference but acceptable.
Huge downside is the battery. It drains like in few hours. My first charge lasted 3 hours, while second about 3 hours 20 min. Hope it improve in the next few days.
Build quality – not too bad for the price I’ve paid and feels solid. The SIM card slots & TF/SD card slots need some skill to get properly done. take note that there is one ‘full-sim’ and other ‘micro-sim’. So it’s two layers, bottom one is full SIM, while the top one is half for micro-sim & the remaining space is for SD. Camera quality is acceptable but music playback is a huge let down. I was told that i need to ‘factory reset’ but I doubt that could help. Anyway am going to give it a try over the weekend.
They have thrown the screen protector with it and a cheap head set (I doubt I can use them). I’ve purchased a case, NFC sticker on top of it. In total the overall cost is $184.
