LG just jumped on to the Internet of Things bandwagon with the launch of their latest smart product series — the LG Smart Bulbs.
The Korean biggie announced the first two devices from the Smart Bulb series, the B1030EA5L6B and B1050EA5L6B earlier today. The bulbs can be controlled via any Android (v4.3+) or iOS (version 6+) powered smartphone by connecting via the on-board Bluetooth v4.0 modem.

With an array of features on-board, the Smart Bulbs are ideal companions for people who aren’t interested in DIY or simply don’t have the time for it. Once everything is set up, the bulbs can respond to your command sent through your smartphone — this can be a simple turn on/turn off command, or even the more gimmicky and eye-pleasing seamless brightness control, etc. The bulbs can even sync with your music (Android only) to liven up the atmosphere.
According to the company, the 10W bulb saves up to 80% energy compared to traditional bulbs, and will last up to 10 years when used 5 hours per day (which makes it quite a good investment, wethinks).
Priced 35,000 South Korean Won ($33), the Smart Bulbs will go on sale in South Korea in the next few days.
