A metallic red version of HTC’s octacore D616W has been photographed today in China.
The new mid-range Mediatek equipped smartphone is as attractive as it’s more costly brother the HTC M8, but has been spec’d with the wallet in mind rather than flagship features. Still the HTC D626W is a great looking smartphone with a 1.7Ghz octacore chipset, 5-inch 1280 x 720 display, 2 mega-pixel front camera, 8 mega-pixel rear and WCDMA 3G support.
Gizchina News of the week
The plastic bodied phone will cost 1299 Yuan here in China, which isn’t too bad, however we have a feeling HTC might be fighting an uphill battle against more affordable, better equipped devices from local Chinese phone makers.

They should be selling this at less than a thousand kuai or maybe at half the price to be really competitive in China.
Yep, HTC are always overpriced in China though.
HTC has always overpriced its goods..hence its miniscular market share.
