Hugo Barra in India can only mean one thing! Xiaomi are edging closer still to a launch in the country!
Xiaomi and Hugo Barra have both confirmed that India is one of their big aims and they would like to launch Xiaomi phones in the country sooner rather than later. Xiaomi haven’t confirmed a date for the India launch, but judging by the most recent photo on Hugo Barra’s Google+ account, work is well underway!
Gizchina News of the week
Barra is in India as we speak and is meeting with MIUI India founder Rohit Ghalsasi, who is leading the MIUI Hindi translation community project.
Which Xiaomi phone would you like to see launched in India first? The entry-level Redmi or Redmi note of the flagship Xiaomi Mi3?

Good development. Want redme note 2gb version to be launched in india in may along with other Asian country.
We want Xiaomi to be in India. We are very sure, whatever product they launch, they are going to bang big dull mobile market in India. Indians are really cautious buying new brand, so if you talk in terms of sales, RedMi will work wonders. The low cost product will make many new buys try it and then once they are comfortable with quality, they will adore it.
Well xiaomi in India means one thing, stiff competition to other brands and some might even extinct 😀
They should launch the Redmi Note, Redmi and Mi3 at the same time. There’s something for everyone.
Xiaomi products definitely are better than all the Bull Shit floated in Indian mobile market by likes of Karbonn MMX et al..but a price & after sales service will be decision maker for Indians.
I can import the mobiles. Let them bring MiTV first 😛
More keen on Xiomi affordable 40-50 inch TVs
This is good news. Indians would get quality cheap Smartphones from Xiaomi. I have hoped so much to have a Xiaomi phone with 4g lte.
we would like a xiaomi phone factory or assembly unit in india and with indianized version( themes/casescovers/startup logos) of MI3 and Redmi and Redmi note. Mr Barra It would be great if you setup an RnD Hub for Xiaomi Apps. Any ways most welcome to india….
Service Centers First Please!
And don’t outsource to the same guys running centers for Micromax, Lava or Karbonn.
They have no honesty, no shame and don’t care about the customer or brand.
