Some months ago Huawei launched 2 new phones to battle in 2 different markets, one was the Huawei Honor 3C for the entry market and the second was Huawei Honor 3X to take part in the mid-range phone wars market. Today we finally go hands on with the Huawei Honor 3X.
The following unboxing and first hands on is just a precursor to a full in-depth review which will be published on GizChina.es and GizChina.com shortly. Our version of the Huawei Honor 3X boasts a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 display, 2GB RAM and comes in a white finish.

Huawei Honor 3X first impressions
We can say without any doubt that is a good phone, in fact I would go as far to say this is one of the best Mediatek phones on the market at this time! Design is subject to tastes, but I like the design of the Huawei Honor 3X and also the finish of and quality of materials. In your hands it looks and feels like a flagship model phone.
Gizchina News of the week
The software have been optimized well for use on the hardware and runs very smoothly, there is certainly a difference between the Honor 3X and other Mediatek phones. There is no lag and the screen responds to touches instantly.
I will test the phone to see if the 13 mega-pixel camera works as well as I hope to see how the battery consumption and these details with all the usual benchmarks will be in the full review coming soon.
Thanks to Lenteen.es for shipping this phone you can also check out the Huawei Honor 3X on their website.

I’ve had it for 10 days now, no bugs so far. Emotion UI is pretty smooth, 98% of the time there’s no lag, unless you’re running a very power intensive app in the background. All the apps open quickly, even Facebook’s horrible official one.
I’m very pleased with both cameras, they can’t compare to Sony Z1 or Galaxy S4 by any means, but they’re more than enough for everyday usage, and they could be considered high quality. Flash is really good, maybe better than on most other chinese phones under $250 pricetag that I’ve encountered so far.
Battery last a little more than 20 hours when fully charged, and I have auto screen brightness and wifi on all day. I’m not a heavy user, but I play games around 2 hours per day and music for more than 6 hours, and sometimes it lasts me for a day and a half without recharge.
GPS works and didn’t take long to lock.
There were no problems with either network or calls, you’ll be able to hear other side well enough. The speaker is average, I think. It’s not bad by any means, but it’s not going to blow you out of water any time soon.
One thing though, the screen is very fingerprints prone and you don’t get screen protection with it, so you need to order one.
Oh, right, I forgot. Touch buttons are NOT backlit, so you have to know where they’re situated, it’s easy to get used to, BUT, they have great visibility on direct sunlight, where they at times look completely white or drawn on.
I’m not sure if you’re interested in anything else, that’s all I could think of. So far, it has a great price-performance ratio.
