WCDMA, Octacore CoolPad F1 on sale for $229.99 Internationally

coolpad f1

The 5-inch Coolpad F1 octacore handset has been making waves since it’s launch in China earlier this year, and now aims to do the same internationally.

The CoolPad F1 first arrived in China as a China Mobile exclusive, but has since been launched with support for WCDMA 3G networks (900/2100mhz), so customers outside of China can enjoy the low-cost octacore smartphone.

Based around a 5-inch 720p display, the F1 boasts a 1.7Ghz Mediatek MT6592 processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, Micro SD card support and Dual SIM. There isn’t one area we can see that Coolpad have skimmed on to keep the price low, even the cameras are a respectable 13 mega-pixel rear and 5 mega-pixel front and the removable battery is 2500mAh!

Anyone able to post camera photos or a review of the phone? Really interested on a more comprehensive camera review to see how the sensor performs.

Is there something limiting so many made for China phones to android 4.2? Asides from there not appearing to be a simple way to explain the radios issue, it’s that many of these phones seem stuck on 4.2 without much chance of update that cause resistance in buying them.
