Xiaomi are continually full of surprises as yet another variant of the popular Xiaomi Redmi turns up on the Tenaa website.
Xiaomi already have a quad-core MT6589T version, Snapdragon option and even an octacore 5.5-inch variant of the Xiaomi Redmi either on sale on waiting in the wings to launch, but those options just don’t seem to satisfy the Beijing phone maker.
Gizchina News of the week
Recently another Redmi model appeared on the official Tenaa site, this option sharing the same overall design and layout as the original Redmi, but with a lower speed 1.3Ghz processor. Chances are this model runs the quad-core Mediatek MT6582 SoC, a chipset especially developed for 720p smartphones (which the current Redmi is).
As the current Redmi phones are priced from 799 Yuan and up, this quad-core MT6582 model could cost as little as 599 Yuan once it hits internet stores!
