ZTE’s low cost 4G LTE head start might not last long as a few new LTE equipped Xiaomi Redmi phones are rumoured to be on the way!

Xiaomi’s hugely successful Redmi range of Android phones could be in for a huge performance and feature boost with the aid of the latest Mediatek processors.

According to Chinese tech sites, the Beijing based phone maker plans to launch 4G LTE version of the Redmi phones using the next generation Meditak MT6595 and MT6732 processors.

Mediatek’s latest processors are capable of supporting 2K 2560 x 1440 displays, 4K video playback, 4G LTE and up to 20 mega-pixel main cameras. This isn’t to say the new Redmi phones will get this hardware, but at least it is possible.

So the good news is that Xiaomi will have low-cost, high-end, 4G LTE phones in the future, the bad news is that we may have to wait for up to 7 months (according to reports) before we see them. At least the ZTE Redbull is already on sale with 4G LTE and at just 799 Yuan!

And the war begin. 5inch, 720p , quadricore, LTE, low consumption. Smartphones whith these specs will be commonly around 130$ at the end of this year. And even bellow 100$ after?
Technology need to be accessible for everyone. So it’s a good thing.
