The Ascend P6 was a popular phone for Huawei, praised for its looks but slightly criticized for its somewhat underwhelming specs. Huawei seems to be going down the same path for its Ascend P7.
Just last week, we brought you news about the Huawei Ascend P7 being leaked by China’s equivalent to the FCC, TENAA. Those images, along specs that appear to be more than just rumors at this point, have given us a pretty clear idea of what to expect when Huawei unveils the Ascend P7 officially early next month.
Now, we have a bit more detailed look at the device, courtesy of a Weibo user who leaked higher resolution images of the device.
While these images are far from “high-res” they are a significant step up from the previously leaked shots.
Gizchina News of the week
Previous leaked renders revealed that the Ascend P7 may come in several colors and internal Huawei documents revealed that it will feature a 1.7 Ghz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch HD screen, a 13 MP camera and a 8 MP front camera. Like the P6, these specs sit below other recently released “flagship” phones, but Huawei seems set on its strategy of style over substance.
Just about all that is left is figuring out what price it will be and where it will be available. We should find out the answers to those questions on May 7th, when Huawei is expected to reveal the Ascend P7.
