The octacore JiaYu G4S officially goes on sale today, the first model available being the 2GB RAM 16GB memory model.

We are seeing plenty of last year’s quad-core phones updated to octacore specification, however a few are more exciting than the JiaYu G4S. Last year when we reviewed the quad-core MT6589 version of the G4 we were impressed with the phones performance, design and build quality. The new JiaYu G4S model takes that great all round package but boosts usability thanks to the faster 1.7ghz octacore MT6592 chipset and more powerful Mali 450 GPU.

  I ordered mine last week.
  It’s the battery that sold it for me… yes, there are bigger/higher resolution/slimmer phones around, but I can deal with a little thicker for over a day’s use out of my smart phone!
  That and the build quality of Jiayu over their less well known colleagues.

      Yes it’s 3000mAh. Makes for a chunkier phone, but I don’t really mind!
      I ordered mine from SpeMall. Hopefully it’s shipping out today!

        I currently have a Star N920e. It’s a very forgettable 5 inch quad core that I bought from Antelife about a year ago.
        I went for expedited. Not sure if it’s worth it as I’ve never purchased from these guys before but I’d like to hope it arrives quickly!

        I hope it works out great. Last year I bought an unbranded clone of a Samsung Galaxy S3 (it didn’t last very long), and so now am very weary about these alternative brands !

I have placed my order on spemall.com and they promissed will give me tracking number tomorrow morning, The Jiayu G4 was very hot and now the G4S finially launched. so sure i go for jiayu G4S on spemall

  NO, they said they already have the white color version, i ordered one as my mother’s birthday gift, i think she will like it. And Spemall promise me they will send my phone ASAP, and give me tracking number via email.

hmm is it worth it..? only 4.7 inch screen. battery is good but that makes the device very thick

  Yeah , i think it’s worth to buy ! I don’t believe that mobile phone is too thin, Jiayu G4s measures 133×65×10(mm), this size is just right .

  I currently have a Star N920e. It’s a very forgettable 5 inch quad core that I bought from Antelife about a year ago.

Just ordered one, it will do until Chinese 4G phones become cheaper. battery and general performance did it for, No 4G where I live for maybe a couple of years, so why pay more, or the same for an inferior device from Carphone Warehouse?

Did anybody get their G4S from Spemall yet? I ordered on 15 April, phone was listed as “in stock for immediate shipment” and I did not even get a tracking number so far. Is this one of those tricks where sellers list something in stock when it really is pre-sale?
