OnePlus posted a few screenshots of the One running the much talked about customized CyanogenMod OS, CyanogenMod 11S, on their forums.
What we believe to be the lockscreen from this set of screenshots looks a lot like what had leaked some weeks back. Like any other iteration of CyanogenMod, the 11S too creates a good balance between stock Android and pure eye candy. The UI remains largely flat, with clean fonts and simple icons that won’t hurt the eye.
What should be most exciting about the firmware is the ‘extended’ themes section, where one will be able to customize everything from the font and icons to boot animation and sound packs. One can also notice the on-screen navigation buttons that appear in one of the screenshots, reminding you of the optional nature of the on-screen navbar.
Gizchina News of the week
There has been a lot of speculation and excitement about the operating system of the OnePlus One. As you know, we’ve been working with the Cyanogen team on this product for quite some time, starting from when OnePlus was just an idea. Both teams have been deeply involved in both the software and the hardware parts of the experience, and it’s been an amazing ride so far.
Although we’re still running pre-production versions of CyanogenMod 11S, I’d still like to share with you some of the things that the Cyanogen team has been working on.
The new stuff is pretty cool, so here’s a taste of what’s to come.
– Carl, OnePlus
What’s noteworthy, though, is the fact that the OnePlus official claims the device is still running a pre-production version of the OS, which suggests that the One is yet to go into full-fledged production. We wonder how long after the launch will the device be available.
With launch scheduled in 3 days from now, we expect a more comprehensive overview of the CyanogenMod 11S on the OnePlus One.
