GSMArena claims to have grabbed a few screenshots from the LG G3, which not only confirm the much talked about 2560 x 1440p resolution that the device was touted to sport, but also give a peek at revamped UI.
This new Optimus UI is very much in line with what we’ve been seeing with most manufacturers of late — flat, rounded icons with colours that are easy on the eye. In fact, the UI elements look a lot like the redesigned TouchWiz UI on Samsung devices, as you can make out from the screenshots.
Android v4.4 KitKat is what this version of Optimus UI uses as base, with a slew of modifications from LG. Besides the usual features, one also notices a particular widget that gives context-aware suggestions, based on current weather and possibly other variables.
The source also mentions the possibility of the LG G3 being a derivative of the LG isai FL, a smartphone with a seriously high screen:footprint ratio, which is headed for Japan. The isai FL is expected to feature some flagship-esque internals including a Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM and of course, a 2560 x 1440p display, which is perhaps enough reason for us to believe it is indeed an ancestor to the upcoming G3.
Given the form factor of an LG G2, would you bank on the G3 to have something similar (i.e., screen to footprint ratio) and wait for the launch? Or would you rather go for something like an OPPO Find 7? Let us know in the comments section below.
