Meizu’s MX3 is among the most popular Chinese devices right now, and if we’re hearing right, the phone will soon be replaced by a newer iteration in the coming months.
Rumours about the next Meizu have been around for a while, including one which suggests that the device will come Q3 this year along with a MediaTek MT6595 chipset. This time though, the rumours are a bit more specific and suggest it is August when the device is launched.
It is expected of the MX4 to have two screen variants, one with a 5.5-inch display and the other with a smaller, 5-inch one. Meizu have been consistently unconventional with screen resolution on their devices; the 5.5-inch MX4, too, is tipped to feature a 1536 x 2560 pixel resolution, making the 1920 x 1080 pixels on the 5-inch version look pedestrian.

These variants might also be differentiated with processors; talks about a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 are making the rounds as well.
We think it would be better for Meizu if they could hold the launch back until August or September, while hoping for the air around Xiaomi Mi3S and OPPO Find 7 to die down. We’ve already spoken about the pricing that the MX4 is expected to carry — 1999 Yuan or $320.
Meizu have had a busy year with expansion in full swing, following the likes of OPPO and Xiaomi. The company also released concept screens of the upcoming Flyme OS 4.0, which the MX4 should feature as standard.
