When a phone’s screen is 6.4 inches, pretty much everything else is “mini” by comparison. This is the situation for ZTE’s Nubia X6, which just had the “Mini” version of it leaked on Weibo. The funny thing is, sporting a 5.2 inch screen, it is big enough to be a flagship phone in its own right.
The still unconfirmed phone was leaked onto Weibo today, and it reportedly boasts the same impressive specs of its larger brother (saving for the screen, of course). The Nubia X6 Mini will reportedly have 3GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM, the Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU (presumably clocked at the same 2.3Ghz) a 13 MP camera (and likely a weaker camera in the front). While the leaker did not specify, it is safe to assume the battery will be slightly downgraded from the larger device’s 4250mAh battery.
Gizchina News of the week
The Nubia X6 Mini’s 5.2 inch screen sports “only” 1080P resolution, rather than the QHD screen found in the original. It also supports 3G, 4G and LTE wireless networks. It will ship with Android 4.4 and use ZTE’s new Nubia 2.1 UI.
According to the leaker’s post, it is expected to sell for 3,299 RMB ($529, €383) but no date of its release or official reveal was given. That price clearly puts the X6 Mini in the high-end camp, but its specs justify its inclusion. The original Nubia X6 just launched last month.
