Here in China we will begin the May holidays tomorrow, but not JiaYu who have chosen the public holiday to the launch date for the octacore JiaYu G6 phablet.
The JiaYu G6 is going to be the larger JiaYu smartphone to date, and makes good use of the knowledge the company has gathered when designing and manufacturing phones such as the JiaYu G5, and S2.
For the JiaYu G6 an all metal chassis has been chosen to give added strength and durability while the outside is to be covered with Gorilla Glass panels front and rear. The front panel covers the 5.7-inch 1080p LTPS display which in turn sits over the octacore MT6592 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB memory and 3500mAh battery. Features don’t stop there though and the G6 also boasts NFC, OTG, wireless charging and dual SIM for WCDMA and GSM cards.
Gizchina News of the week
The first batch of JiaYu G6 will go on sale tomorrow in China at 11:00am. Anyone lucky enough to get the 1799 Yuan phablet will also receive a free screen protecter and a pair of JiaYu’s own wooden earphones too.

G3s is their best device, I’m surprised its not as popular. Its by far the best mediatek device I’ve used. Solid build quality, albeit plastic, screen is difficult to smash and *****60fps*****. Hopefully their quality continues through the G series of devices
G3S for life.
OrientPhone Mega Pro 7.0 – The world’s First 7 Inch FHD Octa Core Phablet – MTK6592 1.7Ghz 2GB RAM 16GB ROM 1920*1200 FHD 3G Phablet with Smart Window S View Cover.
The price was $230 shipped, but it went up a bit and I complained to them and they lowered it a bit, but anyway, I would get one of these before a G6… Just my opinion =) Of course the main difference is the size but oh well… 😉
This is my second choice after OPO – good looking, solid build, dual sim, decent but built in battery and SD card slot. The camera probably won’t touch OPO’s (which is exceptional even in low light). How is the GPS with the MT6592?
Hey guys,
I was wondering if someone can help me regarding my future purchase. I would like to buy a smartphone for the first time and was planning to order the Xiaomi MI2S 32GB version which has been released more than a year ago. I am looking for a smartphone with the following specifications: a screen size between 4,3″ and maximum 5″, 2GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB ROM + MicroSD up to 32GB, CPU Quad or Octacore (wondering which one is the best in terms of performances and battery optimization), 3G (900MHz). My budget is around 350$.
My preferences:
Xiaomi MI2S 32GB
Jiayu G5S 16GB
ZTE Z5S Mini 16GB
Xiaomi MI3S which has a 5″ screen size (might be too big?)
I will probably play Fifa 2014.
Your help and recommandations will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
M

Are you sure, that it supports wireless charging? I have not seen this at other sites 🙂 Especially that it has metal chassis.
My main concern is that the position of the microUSB port will make it impossible for right handed people to use it while charging. Other than that, it looks fine.
Andi those look like magnetic charging contacts really.
Hi Andi…waiting for the detailed review with full size camera samples
