This $36 Micromax phone probably holds more juice than your $360 smartphone!

We today came across this little (giant) Micromax phone (notice how we don’t use the term ‘smartphone’) earlier today, and were both pleased and surprised with what it had on offer.

The Micromax X352 is a device with merely a 2.8-inch screen, but a rather generous 3000mAh battery. We’ve seen smartphones with batteries as large as 5000mAh, but then the components on those phones are equally inefficient in handling the juice. However, the Micromax X352 does nothing of that sort and comes with a modest specs sheet to fall in the category of ‘feature phones’.

Retailing at just 2,199 INR or $36, this 3000mAh powered phone has the capability of reverse charging, i.e., it can charge other devices. We have seen this feature in other phones, namely the Ascend Mate series from Huawei; but the X352 is perhaps the most inexpensive device to have the feature.

Availability, however, is limited to Indian shores unless you want to pay for international shipping, which most likely will cost you more than the phone itself. Just an idea, but we do like the prospect of a sub-$40 phone with a battery as large as this one.

It could make for a great secondary phone for folks who indulge in activities such as adventure sports, etc. and do not require the bells and whistles of a smartphone all the time.

Maybe I don’t understand this chart-gainer, but anyone can say me what Xiaomi Power Bank 10400 mAh do wrong with 11$ price tag?
