New ASUS TP500L Laptop/Tablet Hybrid Pops Up At FCC

ASUS is the world’s premier laptop/tablet hybrid maker, and it appears that they are at it again. After releasing both 10 inch and 13 inch models of the ASUS Transformer Book, a new, even larger, model has appeared on the FCC website.

The ASUS TP500L, as it is currently called, will likely get a more consumer friendly name when it becomes available for customers. The TP500L looks to be the biggest Transformer Book yet, coming in with a 15.6 inch screen. It appears that unlike former Transformer Books, this device will not have a removable keyboard, and will instead be able to be folded backwards to turn into a tablet like device, not unlike Lenovo’s Yoga tablets (Although, it should be noted there is an image of the keyboard by itself, this does not seem to be a function of the device).

Not much else is known about the device, but we can see from the label in the images that the device will run Windows 8.1, features a Haswell CPU, and has 4GB of RAM. We can also see from the photos that it has one USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports. The documentation also reveals that it will support 802.11b/g/n WiFi.

No price or release date has been announced just yet, but we will be sure to keep you informed.
