Nokia usually are the first ones to call the dibs on the Windows Phone OS, but apparently there’s more than just the now-Microsoft-subsidiary looking to make it big with the sort-of out of favour OS.
Windows Phone releases of late have, by large, consisted of decent specs sets, but this still falls short of what their Android counterparts have on the offering. However, it looks like this is set to change; China’s own ZTE is allegedly looking to release a Windows Phone powered device later this year with specifications at par with other Android powered 2014 flagships.
Surprisingly though, the device — allegedly dubbed W5 — features in the Nubia series of smartphones from the maker. ZTE have been aggressive with the Nubia series throughout the past year or so, with focus on building an image as a global player rather than just a China-centric one.
Gizchina News of the week
As for the specs set of the Nubia W5 is concerned, its being said that the device will feature the same Snapdragon 801 we saw on flagships (and flagship killers alike…) from multiple manufacturers this year. This along with a now sort of standard 3GB RAM, 64GB on-board ROM and a 13 mega-pixel camera. That’s not all, however. WP devices are usually known to be better at power management than Android phones, and the fact that the Nubia W5 is purported to have a 4500mAh unit should only make it better.
Would you chuck your Android for the device you painted in your mind while reading this? Keep in mind, Nubia phones are usually quite the lookers!
