It was revealed today that ZTE will release a WCDMA version of the low-cost Redbull V5 with 2GB RAM on 27th May.
The ZTE Redbull V5 originally launched earlier this year as a 799 Yuan smartphone with 4G LTE support and 1GB RAM for China Mobile customers, the new updated version of the V5 will not only support China Unicom’s WCDMA (and international) 3G networks but will also receive a boost in memory to 2GB RAM and 8GB ROM.

Other features of the new ‘advanced’ version of the ZTE Redbull V5 include a 5-inch 720p display, 5 mega-pixel front camera, 13 mega-pixel rear, 2400mAh battery, dual SIM support , 1.2Ghz Qualcomm MSM8X26 processor and Nubia UI version 2.0 based on Android 4.3. Worryingly there is no mention of 4G LTE (which makes sense as China Unicom don’t currently offer the service) but fingers crossed this 999 Yuan phone will offer it.
