Oppo Find 7a screen yellowing or other problems?

Oppo China have made an official statement over customer concerns that the screen on the Find 7 and Find 7a has a yellowing issue.

Customers in China have been complaining to Oppo about yellowing Oppo Find 7 screens for weeks and now with many customers complaining that the issues are due to faults in the phone, Oppo have finally made an official statement concerning the matter.

According to Oppo their are two issues which are concerning Oppo Find 7 owners. The first is that many owners of the Find 7a have found the screen to appear more yellow along the bottom edge of the phone. Oppo claim the reason for this is due to more intense light in this area meaning the light does not display uniformly across the panel and are offering to test (and if necessary) replace phones.

The second issue affects the Oppo Find 7 (2K model) with customers complaining that the colours on the screen are more yellow and less realistic than those on the Find 7a. Oppo have said that they have released a software update which fixes this.

These are not the only issues that customers have had, I personally have had to return my Oppo Find 7a and received a refund when the display on the phone became unusable due to aggressive ghost touching.

This is gonna put off international customers Andi. Really bad for as brand as respectable as Oppo. I wouldn’t wanna buy one.

  To be honest I was shocked by the customer service of Oppo China, they really didn’t want to help me with my problem. Hope Oppo International are much better.

    I think more or less the same. The customer service here drag for 2 weeks before answering my questions. I think it will be better to buy xiaomi then?

I would suggest you get the Vivo Xplay 3S. I have the Xplay 3S and after using it for 2 months, I must say that this is the best phone I have ever handled. It has everything that I have ever wanted except no dual sim and replaceable battery options.It’s very fast on 4G, beautiful 6″ 2K screen which is excellent in viewing videos and mp4 movies, regular firmware updates, light and pocketable and most importantly, the sound from the internal built in DAC ES9018 and TI Opamp is really awesome coming out from a phone!! A premium look and feel!

  I have to agree. .I replaced my faulty Find 7a with the Vivo Xplay 3S, best phone I have ever had. Camera isn’t as good as the Find 7a though, but everything else is much much better.

        Well in comparison with likes of Oppo and what LG G3 and what not, which have all crossed the phablet mark, then Xplay 3s fits well into that category.

        Haha totally agree with your earlier comment. I only bought the Xplay 3S about a week or two ago and now currently traveling so difficult to find the time. I suppose a ‘Mini’ review can be posted today with some nice photos 😉 The Xplay 3S is so good that I will certainly be getting the Xshot.

        G3 is small enough to pass off as oversized 5″ phone (i.e. Xperia Z1) so not really.

        The 5.5″ G3 cant be too different from the the 5.9″ G pro (which had minimal bezels too btw). In any case, there is demand for phablet Oppo size phones and Xplay3s is a better/best alternative to that. For non-phablet phones, that another category all together.

        If you conpare the Xplay to the Find 7 then the Xplay isn’t much larger in reality. It is also makes use of its size better than the Oppo with less ‘wasted’ area top and bottom.

  First of all, 3S is more expensive. Secondly, it’s only good for these, who live in India, China or near it. Why ? I live in Europe and Oppo’s fast, tax free shipping from Europe warehouse is much more reliable. Also you get Europe warranty with no cost for shipping. If about specs, sure that 3S beats 7a. But, it’s not the main thing for international buyers.

    I disagree completely, both phones can be had for around £350 so no difference in price if you search around. Secondly, international buyers buy Chinese phones for the price and accept the risk that goes with it. I’ve only returned one phone out of 7 that I’ve purchased for friends/family, it was painless and I got a full refund (didn’t want replacement). Only been hit with tax once and over the last 3 months, everything I’ve ordered from china with free shipping has arrived in 6-10 days including China post. I was going to buy the Vivo and only reason I decided against it was because I loathe white phones, however, the spec/price ratio is hard to beat when you consider the amount of phone you get for your money!

        Hi Jake, not sure they allow links but what I would say is make sure they have at least 90% +ve feedback, check reasons for any -ve feedback and use a credit card! I’ve been using aliexpress on and off for 4 years without problems (2 phones, 2 tablets, cases, accessories etc..) I always send an email before ordering asking a question about the item, a good seller always replies within 24 hours, dodgy sellers don’t bother, its a method that’s worked well for me at least!

Well, the Xplay 3S day shots are little over sharpened and lack a little dynamic contrast as compared to the Oppos’ but the night shots are pretty good and better in view of the aperture size of F1.8. Well, the Xplay 3S day shots are little over sharpened and lack a little dynamic contrast as compared to the Oppos’ but the night shots are pretty good and better in view of the aperture size of F1.8. Here is a hand held shot of a 4K TV scene sooc without flash..[IMG
