Zopo have had tremendous success in the mid and high end Mediatek smartphone market, so can they get a similar result in the low-end market with the Zopo ZP6470.
Zopo are aiming to sell the Zopo ZP6470 for around just 599 Yuan in China which will have it competing against low-cost phones from JiaYu but as usual Zopo are asking for a slight premium for their phone over similar devices such as the JiaYu G2F. In fact the specs of the new Zopo are more akin to the JiaYu F1 rather than the G2F.
Gizchina News of the week
Although pricing would have the new Zopo costing just $100, the hardware isn’t really want we expect from a phone of this price. A 4.5-inch 960 x 540 resolution display is about right, but a dual-core processor and 512mb RAM are well below par. Camera’s specs are a 5 mega-pixel rear and 2 mega-pixel front and the battery is just a 1700mAh cell.
Zopo are also lagging behind Doogee and Elephone by only offering Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on the ZP6470 rather than Android 4.4 KitKat. The ZP6470 will go on sale in a few weeks in a variety of bright colours.
