Tizen isn’t dead! It is still alive and kicking and available on the newly launched Samsung Z Tizen smartphone!
Samsung have been working on Tizen, an alternative OS for tablets, TV’s watches and of course phones, for years and although it was rumoured to be dead in the water has finally made it’s mobile debut on the Samsung Z.
The Z has been designed to show off the capabilities of the new OS while remaining accessible to the majority of smartphone buyers boasting top-end mid-range specifications. Those specs include a 4.8-inch AMOLED display, quad-core 2.3Ghz processor, 2GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel main camera, 2600mAh battery and CAT 4 LTE.

The Z offers added security features in the way of a fingerprint scanner on the rear and even includes a heart rate monitor, features also found on the Samsung Galaxy S5.
As of the Tizen OS, Samsung have given the OS a similar Touch Wiz look making the transition from Android a breeze, however the lack of Google applications is going to be hard to ignore on the alternative mobile OS.
Do you think Tizen is going to be a threat to Android? Or is it too late in the game to be launching alternative operating systems?
