Xiaomi have made huge steps in to entering the Indian smartphone market by hiring Jabong co-founder Manu Jain.
Hugo Barra had already visited India earlier this year, making his intentions clear that he was eyeing the hugely demanded market to launch Xiaomi’s range of competitive phones. News of Xiaomi’s expansion in to India had calmed until today when sources confirmed that Manu Kamir had joined the Xiaomi team to head up operations in the country.
These same sources also claim that Xiaomi might be teaming up with e-commerce giant Flipkart to sell their Redmi and Xiaomi Mi3 phones in the market, and that a team is being put together for an official launch in the coming months.
Xiaomi will be best advised to use the intervening period , to immediately set up a network of after sale service in India. Without strong after sale service network, which is differentiating factor in favor of Samsung, mainstream sales will not come Xiaomi way.
