Breaking: 2 new Zopo phones with LTE on the way

zopo lte

China is going LTE crazy with devices from Oppo released this past week and now a couple of exciting LTE equipped phones from Chinese phone maker Zopo.

Zopo are usually one of the favourites when it comes to releasing phones with the latest tech local hardware makers have to offer. In the past they were the first to release an octacore phone based on the MT6592 platform, and this year they could be first with a Mediatek LTE phone, or two!

Gizchina News of the week

zopo lteImages of two devices were spotted by the GizChina.it team earlier today both claiming to be 4G LTE devices with Android 4.4 Kitkat basted Android OS installed.

The first device looks a lot like the Oppo Find 7 and boasts a 5.5 inch display and larger rear camera sensor, while the second phone looks like an updated version of the 5-inch Zopo ZP980. For now those are the only details we have for now, but watch out for further news.

Main issue with zopo and in fact most of the smaller chinese manufacturers are the cameras. They are just generally weak. Got a redmi 1s for a friend recently and the camera is pretty damn good for the price. However it is not without its own software issues. These smaller manufacturers really need to step there game up in terms of cameras though because they are basically gifting market share to xiaomi because for the price, in terms of quality xiaomi are still tough to beat, LTE or no LTE.

I’ve used a Zopo ZP810 and ZP820 and I’ve gotta say their cameras are good. Not as good as a Lenovo’s but good enough for the price.

I concur! I had a Zopo ZP 900 Leader and the 8MP unit plus software is fine.

In April I upgraded to the Octa Core Zopo ZP 998 and the camera plus software, in my opinion, functions far better for a phone of its price that was never marketed as a camera centric smartphone.

Even the 40 & 99 shot options for the burst feature function fine.

I have zero complaints, about overall build quality, I am in the US and so far I have had flawless usage on all fronts with the unit from battery longevity to GPS to connectivity.

Everything is stock ROM with zero issues!

Yes Xiaomis build quality is legendary. Only a Meizu and an Oppo phone can deliver same.

Yes, you’ve never held a Jiayu phone before.

Build quality wise, it’s good enough to match xiaomi’s.

Yep dont think jiayu can quite match xiaomi. However my friend has an Oppo find 7a and in my opinion it has the best build quality I have ever seen on an android phone period. Literally incredible, makes the galaxy s4 look like a flimsy piece of sh*t

No I think so, I’ve held all those phone and they’re really not world apart like you guys think. Oh you’re already throwing the hyperbole, I’m out.

With “software issues”, do you mean the known issues which are often talked about in the official Xiaomi forum?

Yeah, the main issue with 3G drop outs has been discussed but no word on a fix. Other issues iv’e seen on my friends redmi 1s are inaccurate battery meter, my fiend charged his redmi after flashing new rom, got stuck on 57% for 2 hours then he restarted and its suddenly at 100%. Also drains disproportionately. Also battery drain in standby is poor. Dropping approximately 1% every 30 minutes without use. Funnily enough my MT6589 phone lasts for literally weeks on standby. This is the second xiaomi phone I have purchased and while I love MIUI, it still has issues especially when xiaomi launch a new product, they basically release products with beta firmware and fix with updates. Also by constantly introducing new features they also introduce new problems.
