Archos have taken their big screen Archos 50c Oxygen to UK shores at an attractive £179 price point.
What you get with the Archos 50c Oxygen is an octacore MT6592 processor running at 1.7Ghz, plus 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a 5-inch 1280 x 720 IPS display. The phone comes unlocked for UK 3G carriers, but lacks 4G LTE, and ships with Android 4.2 rather than Android 4.4 Kitkat. Still for an unlocked phone it is still quite a good price considering dual-SIM support, a micros SD card reader and thin 7.64mm body.

In addition to the Archos 50c Oxygen there is also the more affordable Archos 50b for £129 with quad-core processor and slightly thicker body.
About the same price as iocean x7s and iocean has way better spec
it’d be very interesting somebody pressing charges against them for violating linux’s GPL license by not posting source code, now that they are out of China…
Are you referring to Archos or Mediatek? From what I know, Mediatek is infamous for this, they take but don’t give. Bastards.
And guess where the SoC it’s being used in this Archos phone is from… They can be held equally liable for this…. Do you modify the linux kernel? You have to publish your source code. That’s what GPL dictates!
Does Archos still exists?
😎
Looks much like the K-Touch Nibiru H1 (which is not LTE but has a 1080p display and 2Gb of RAM)
