Elephone are ready to launch the next chapter of their fast growing range of phones with the launch of the Elephone P2000 flagship with fingerprint security.
The smartphone is an amazing device, but as it collects so much of our personal data throughout the day it is best to keep all that data, photos and emails safe from prying eyes or worse still thieves. For a long time now manufacturers have included options to secure your data, and Google has offered pin codes, face detection and pattern detection in Android for years, but a new security measure is becoming more mainstream.
Elephone will launch the new Elephone P2000 in the coming weeks with built-in fingerprint scanning technology to guard your private data. The set up is similar to that found on the Galaxy S5 and Vivo Xplay 3S with a rear facing scanner sitting just below the main camera. Elephone are saying that the P2000 will be the first Mediatek Ocatcore phone with NFC and fingerprint scanner to go on sale.
Gizchina News of the week
Mediatek provide processing with the 1.7Ghz octacore unit with 2GB RAM, which offers GSM and WCDMA 3G but unfortunately lacks 4G LTE (this will be coming to another Elephone device later in the year). A 5.5-inch OGS HD display won’t take much power or drain the battery, and an overall body thickness of 7.6mm should keep it comfortable to hold.
Elephone have learned from other manufacturers mistakes and have managed to keep the battery at a reasonable 2650mAh, Andorid 4.4 Kitkat is also a neat feature as are the front 8 mega-pixel and rear 13 mega-pixel cameras, NFC, dual-SIM support and SD card memory expansion.
A launch date has not been specified but ensure your country suppurts WCDMA 2100/850 if you need this dual SIM phone to work where you live. The photos above are the first images of the Elephone P2000 to be published on the web.
