Only a handful days back did Micromax launch two of its first Windows Phone devices, which also happened to be the first from any Indian manufacturer.
Micromax has been trending in the Indian market for a few years now; the maker prides itself in being one of the pioneers of the ‘budget high-end’ revolution that the market saw through the past few years. Now that things are more stable, Micromax is apparently willing to explore pastures new.

Gizchina News of the week
During an interview with iGyaan, Micromax said on record that the company is preparing a launch of a 6-inch WP device (phone or phablet, you decide) and ‘many more phones that we will hear about soon’. Of course, there’s no word on the specs sheet of the device, but speculations that point to a high-end set, including a Snapdragon 800 SoC and 2GB RAM, are rife.
Pricing is expected to stay under the 25,000 INR ($415) mark, which does make sense for a maker like Micromax which is best known for its sub-10,000 INR ($165) phones in India, and now Russia.
Micromax have been growing at a steady rate, and sources close to the industry suggest that the maker is now eyeing top makers such as LG, Samsung to grab a slice of the high-end pie. But, we wonder, is it too much too soon?
