DOOGEE phones seem to get better and better with every release, and the latest DOOGEE DG650S is no exception!

After reviewing the DOOGEE DG800 Valencia earlier this month, we were already quite impressed with the young phone maker. The latest DOOGEE DG650S raises the bar and increases performance, camera quality and overall size.

If you found the DG800 to be a little on the small side the DG650S phablet is likely going to impress with a nice mix of features, size and quality design. For starters the display on the DG650S is a tablet rivalling 6.5-inch panel with a FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080, then there is the octacore MT6592 processor, and 16 mega-pixel main camera!

All that hardware is built in to phone which is possibly the best looking DOOGEE so far. The frame is made is a CNC machined unit to keep the body from flexing while maintaining a lightweight it has also allowed the thickness of the phone to come in at just 8.5mm with a 3500mAh battery.

Gizchina News of the week

The large display of the DG650S has been designed to lend itself well to multimedia and productivity. 3G, GSM and WIFI will keep you connected, there is space for 2 SIM and room for 64GB SD cards.

As already mentioned the main camera is a 16 mega-pixel sensor, the front camera gets 8 mega-pixels and a wide 88 degree allowing for more faces to squeeze in to your selfies.

Interestingly DOOGEE are shipping out the DG650S with Android 4.3 rather than 4.4 Kitkat, but as the phone supports OTA updates we can keep our fingers crossed it won’t take long to get the later OS.

I thought 6.5″ form factor wasn’t all that well received on the market.

Sometimes, I wonder what companies like DOOGEE is thinking when developing this kinda phone. What they did is to clothe a very beautiful girl in rags. 1GB RAM is not enough for the power of MT6592 so it makes no sense to me to stick in 1GB RAM in the phone.

But “280 USD” is not cheap. So, their decision doesn’t make sense anyway.

Agreed. The iOcean G7 has basically the same specs, but with 2Gb RAM and is pretty much the same price.

I have a 6.45″ Firefly with Android 4.2. What I really miss is 3GB Ram, micro HDMI and Windows 8.1. Also I prefer a 7-8″ screen as the width of the phone is smaller nowadays than of the first Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″. This DOOGEE phablet does not make my mobile life better.
