Gionee have posted a new video promoting the Gionee Elife S5.5 that pokes fun at plastic Samsung devices.
The video doesn’t mention Samsung by name, but it is quite clear that the ‘enemy’ in the video is holding a phone that looks like the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5. The video kicks off a new promotion for the Gionee S5.5 which aims to point out that the worlds thinnest phone has more to it than just its size.
Gizchina News of the week
Gionee launched the S5.5 in China and India earlier this year and have recently announced an update to the phone which sees a Snapdragon 410 SoC take the place of the Mediatek octacore and also add LTE functionality.

I love the Samsung plastic phones, they are lighter and more compact then 99% of the chinese phones. I don’t want to carry a heavy phone or a phone that is an inch longer then a samsung! Chinese phones say they are thin but then they add an inch in length to make up for it and they weigh more then samsung galaxy.
Not all chinese phones and samsung phone fit your description, you can find a chinese phone that will fit your criteria if you search enough.
Here are the dimensions between the Samsung S5 and some top Chinese phones:
Samsung Galaxy S5:
Size – 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm
Weight – 145g
Gionee S5.5:
Size – 145.1 x 70.2 x 5.6 mm
Weight – 133 g
Xiaomi Mi4:
Size – 139.2 x 68.5 x 8.9 mm
Weight – 149g
Meizu MX4:
Size – 144 x 75.2 x 8.9 mm
Weight – 147g
Huawei Honor 6:
Size – 139.6 x 69.7 x 7.5 mm
Weight – 130g
Samsung is actually heavier than two of the phones here and bigger than two others. In fact some of the smallest in both terms of size and weight are phones that are coming out of China from Vivo, Oppo, Gionee and Huawei.
What fun? How does it compare to the SG5 specs wise?
IMO, Samsung phones are over-hyped and over-priced, and look cheap too!
I hate Samsungs software and the fact that EVERY one of their phones looks exactly the same.
