The octacore Mediatek MT6595 has been seen in numerous leaks and even at MWC, but finally the company are officially launching the next-generation processor at an event in Shenzhen.
Mediatek’s MT6595 chipset is one of the most talked about developments in the Chinese smartphone industry at present. The chipset will not only bring native support for 4G LTE, but is also rumoured to offer similar performance as the Qualcomm Snapdraogn 801 SoC.
Gizchina News of the week
Specifications for the Mediatek MT6595 include built-in LTE, big.LITTLE octacore architecture using Cortex A17 and A15 cores, PowerVR G6200 GPU and will be able to record and play 4K video, drive 2K displays and support next generation camera equipment.
The MT6595 will be the processor we will see in many Chinese flagship phones for the coming months, but if the performance is as good as it is believed it might also find its way in to flagship devices from lager phone makers also.
- Everthing we know about the Mediatek MT6595.
15th July is the date, Shenzhen is the place. We will keep an eye on the news to see what is launched.
next step for mediatek.. to share the source code..
If not this MTK6595 will leave stuck on 4.4.2
“using Cortex A17 and A15 cores”
ROFL
i know right xD it’s the all new big.BIGGER architecture lol
Great, been waiting a long time for this to be released. Can’t wait to see it’s performance and what phones manufacturers are gonna start releasing, exciting times ahead 🙂
Oh… Its gonna take a few months till we see it in any phones. September or October…
No matter how big is the perfomance, people will not give a shit if they will be stuck on 4.4.2 forever. Mediatek need realease their Source code, if they want be big and trusted.
Be good when it rolls out, now hoipe the phone manufacturers partner the chip with a big battery, 3,000Mah at least Now a JiaYu G5 would be nice with that SoC
On official mediatek site written “four high-performance Cortex®-A17 and four energy efficient Cortex-A7 processors”. Where the author of the post found information about A15?
hopefully the gpu will be able to stack up against the likes of adreno 320 or even 330…
