LTE hits the Elephone smartphone range with the recent announcement of the Elephone P3000 smartphone. Specifications here.
Fast becoming one of the smartphone makers to keep an eye on, Elephone continue to improve and evolve their range of affordable Android smartphones. They were one of the first Chinese phone makers to release Android 4.4 for their Mediatek phones, and now they will be among the first with an LTE MTK phone.
Like other LTE phones we have been seeing lately, the Elephone P3000 uses the current generation quad-core MT6582 chipset with an MT6290 LTE modem rather than a next generation processor with integrated 4G. This is going to be common practice with Chinese phone makers over the coming months.
Gizchina News of the week
Stand-out features of the Elephone P3000 include a rear mounted fingerprint scanner for security, large 3150mAh battery, 13 mega-pixel main camera, 5-inch display, choice of MIUI ROM and of course 4G LTE. The phone looks quite unique too with a design you will either love or hate.
To keep costs low though, certain aspects of the phone have suffered. There will only be a 1GB RAM option at launch, and the display is a 720p HD rather than 1080 model.
More LTE phones are sure to go on sale soon so keep posted.
