KingSing, a company specialising in affordable and budget phones have released their Oppo Find 7 inspired KingSing S1.
Young Chinese phone makers have a hard time making enough noise to keep from being drowned out in the crowd, but instead of going all out and producing something to really get excited to see, many fall fowl of the clone trap.
Making a knock off device is a simple way of getting a headline, which is just what has happened now with the KingSing S1.
Being based roughly on the design of the Oppo Find 7, KingSing have produced a handsome phone, that looks better than the price tag would suggest. Sizing should be similar to the real Find 7 as it has a 5.5-inch display, and like the real Find 7 has a removable rear panel to get at the replaceable (2800mAh) battery.
Gizchina News of the week
Obviously the KingKing S1 hasnāt the same hardware as the Find 7, instead it gets a 960 x 540 resolution display, only 512mb RAM, quad-core MT6582, and 5 mega-pixel rear camera. KingSing have loaded Android 4.4 Kitkat on the S1, almost as if this is an excuse for the tiny amount of RAM.
At $120 we really donāt know who KingSing are hoping to attract. There are better phones for the phone including the DOOGEE DG800 Valencia which has more RAM, impressive rear camera and even a rear touch panel. Still if clones are your thing then the S1 could be for you.
