Report: Lenovo could launch Glasses this month

In an announcement yesterday, VP of Lenovo, Chen Xudong, announced Lenovo will be releasing new mobile products. One of which is believed to be a pair of smart glasses.

We have already heard of Lenovo’s plans to launch 60 Android smartphones this year (not including the plans they have for Motorola), but in an announced yesterday we have learned that smartphones won’t be the only devices to look forward too.

Lenovo’s are branching out in to a number of new markets. New products include air purifiers, to a Google Glass type wearable.

Gizchina News of the week

Just last month a US patent for a Glass type smart device was filed by Lenovo, however that device was less like Google’s Glass and more of a video capture and recording system. The patent showed built-in cameras, and a bone conductive speaker for communication.

It is not clear when Lenovo will launch their glass, but we should see some sort of wearable from the Chinese PC giant this month.

Do you think a Lenovo Google Glass is something customers really want? Or should Lenovo focus on an Android Wear type smartwatch?
