Google Now is the very useful, context-sensitive and sometimes creepy service that we all love to use. The Google service comes in handy when you want relevant information without having to spend time looking for it. This is possible because Google looks up a bunch of stuff about you on its servers, to deliver the most useful information at what it thinks is the right time.
3rd party ROM pundits at CyanogenMod are now working on something similar, something which you can take on a spin already. CM Home as they choose to call it, is CyanogenMod’s answer to Google Now. The service comes with similar features, UI and even triggers, as you might’ve guessed. Essentially, CyanogenMod are trying to do to Google Now what they did to Android.

CM Home can be tried out by those running recent nightlies of the CM ROM, version 11. As seen in the screenshot above, the service looks a lot like Google Now, thanks to is being based on the same Card UI. It opens up in a similar manner too – swiping left on the homescreen, or swiping up from the bottom, brings up CM Home.
Do let us know if you give the service a go, and how you think it fares against Google Now.
