With Xiaomi biggin up their use of 304 stainless steel in their next phone, it quite surprising to hear Meizu will stop using it in their next phone.
For the past few years Meizu has used stainless steel as the base for the Meizu MX2 and the Meizu MX3. The material offers a strong chassis to build a sturdy phone on and can help to disperse heat too. The material is quite versatile and it comes as no surprise that manufacturers will want to point out the use of it as Xiaomi have been doing over the past few days.
So it is surprising to see that Meizu have gone on the record to say they won’t be using stainless steel in their next phone. From the personal Weibo of Meizu’s CEO, the company have confirmed that they won’t using using stainless steel as they intend to use better materials and processes in the next MX phone.
