India based Lava seems to be working on another one of its smartphone releases, this time the Lava Iris 460.
The Iris is a well-received smartphone series in the country. Specifications are pretty much entry-level, with a dual-core CPU and a 4.5-inch screen. However, what is good is though is the fact that the device is listed with Android v4.4 KitKat on board. The SoC of course comes from none other than MediaTek, a 1.3GHz unit.
What we think could be one of the device’s USPs, is the looks department; the Iris 460 looks like quite a handy device without giving up on the eye candy factor. However, that’s only something that we make from the renders; the actual device could be otherwise.
Gizchina News of the week
Specifications

- 1GB RAM
- 8GB on-board ROM, expandable

Its pretty clear, yet again, that the Iris 460 is going to be a budget smartphone. With the above set of specifications, we expect the phone to sell for about $90-100 USD (6,000 INR) in the Indian market.
Do you think Indian OEMs are giving Chinese makers a run for their money, especially in the sub-$100 range?
