Xiaomi finally reveal how many Mi 3 units will be up for next India sale

Xiaomi have been unexpectedly secretive about the number of devices that they put on sale in the first two rounds in India. It is estimated that less than 20,000 units of the Mi 3 were sold (cumulative), but there has been no official word from the Chinese maker on this yet.

However, Xiaomi surprised us by actually announcing the number of devices that will be up for sale in the next round, scheduled to take place in 4 days from now, on August 5. There’ll be 15,000 units of the device on sale, at the regular – 13,999 INR – price in India.

The first sale, on July 22nd, lasted almost 40 minutes before the unspecified number of devices were sold. The second round, however, lasted just 5 seconds according to Xiaomi, resulting in frustration among Mi 3 hopefuls in the country. Going be reports that claimed there were less than 10,000 devices on sale both times, the August 5 sale with 15,000 units should hopefully last longer and give buyers a fair chance to claim their device.

Xiaomi were also quick to point out that more than 100,000 registrations for the August 5 sale have been made, which is when the Mi 3 goes on sale via Xiaomi’s retail partner, Flipkart. A few Xiaomi accessories that have been listed on Flipkart but not yet on sale are also expected to be made available soon.
