With so many amazing phones already launched you might be thinking the best is already behind us, but nothing could be further from the truth and amazing Chinese flagships are still yet to come!
This year has seen the launch of phones including the Xiaomi Mi4, Nubia Z7, OnePlus One, Vivo Xshot, Huawei Honor 6 and Oppo Find 7. These are some of the more powerful and advanced Android phones on the planet, but Chinese companies still have more to come! Here are 7 flagship phones we still cannot wait to see!
Meizu MX4
Meizu were the first to launch their flagship in 2013 but this year they are among the last. This might not be such a bad strategy for Meizu to take though as it will mean that component costs have dropped, the latest hardware is out and supply chains are up and running.
We should see the launch of the Meizu MX4 by around September and from rumours we can expect at least 4 phones ranging from a Mediatek powered model to a Samsung Exynos device. Each phone will launch with LTE, and we have also heard that Flyme 4.0 will be released. Other details include 2K displays and 20 mega-pixel main cameras along with ultra-narrow frame designs.
Huawei Ascend Mate 3
We are not sure if the next Huawei phone will be the Mate 3, or the Ascend D3, but what we do know is that it will features Huawei’s own Kirin 920 processor, the very same that is found in the Honor 6. Other features will include LTE, 1080 display and an alloy body with fingerprint reader!
Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro
Lenovo are set to release their most powerful phone ever! The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro will boast a 6-inch 2K display, LTE, 3GB RAM 16 mega-pixel camera, Snapdragon 801 processor, and 4000mAh battery all inside an all metal body measuring just 7.7mm thick! Rumour has it that Lenovo will also be launching a slightly smaller 5.5-inch version of the Vibe Z2 with 1080 display.
Oppo N2
Yep, Oppo are about due to launch an updated version of the Oppo N1 with swivel camera. The Oppo N1 has been on sale for a while now and has even spawned a Mini version of the phone with LTE.
Gizchina News of the week
An Oppo N2 phone is likely to retain the swivel camera design, but receive LTE, a more compact body and better optics.
Vivo Xplay 4
The Vivo Xplay 3S with its 6-inch 2K display launched in 2013 believe it or not, and although ti remains one of the most advanced phones on the market we can expect Vivo to be planning to launch a new model soon.
Rumours have hinted that the next Vivo flagship might actually be just 5-inch in size with a sapphire glass display and metal body. We doubt this will be the next Xplay model though as Xplay phones have generally been large screen media oriented devices.
IUNI U3
IUNI have already started to tease fans that they have a new phone on the way and if they are going down the same route as last year we will be seeing a 1999 Yuan Android smartphone with the latest hardware at launch. Tips coming in today say that the IUNI U3 will get a larger 2K display and retain it’s alloy body.
Gionee Elife E8
Gionee should be getting ready to start teasing about their next flagship phone too. If the current naming strategy remains this would mean the new Gionee will be the Gionee Elife E8. Specification wise the Elife E7 was a well sorted piece of kit, and we don’t imagine too much will change for the E8. We do expect that a 2K display will be in place, as will a thinner design, larger battery and much improved ROM though, going off our experiences with the E7.
Of course these are just the flagship phones from premium phone makers. What about all the Chinese manufacturers who will be releasing powerful phones with advanced hardware based around the Mediatek MT6595 chipset?
TCL, CoolPad, and Meizu are our among our favourites to release the first MT6595 flagship! Which Chinese Android smartphones are your most excited to see? Will you wait for these 5 phones to launch or have you already made your decision for which you will buy?
