Chinese phone maker VK have posted full specifications of their new phone with LTE, the VK 1000, and that it will be easily available in Europe in the coming weeks.
VK are on of the new growing breed of Chinese phone makers that are targeting European customers with their low-cost, entry-level Android smartphones. Like DOOGEE, VK have been shipping cheap phones to EU citizens for the past year and have been gaining a small but loyal following.
Gizchina News of the week
Their next phone will be the VK 1000, which makes use of an energy-efficient quad-core MT6582M 1.2Ghz processor and MT6290 modem to allow the phone to use faster 4G LTE data networks. VK are obviously hoping to reach customers on a serious budget who really feel the need for 4G, as the specs aren’t what you would call leading edge. The main camera is a 8 mega-pixel model, Android 4.2 is the system which the phone will ship with, and the 5-inch display is a 960 x 540 model.
Still pricing will be cheap and they do promise the phone will be available with shipping from the EU, so at least it should be easy to buy.

With most of the announcements on this blog the specifications are missing it would be nice to have a list of supported LTE bands. In the UK most networks have multiple LTE bands supported the most common being 800 MHz (0.8 GHz), 1800 MHz (1.8 GHz) & 2600 MHz (2.6 GHz).
If you need a 4G phone in the UK all four major networks support 800MZH band. Yet most of the Chinese phones listed on this blog do not support the 800MHZ band including the VK1000 mobile. I know that this technology web-blog is aimed at an international audience but it would be nice to include some kind of reference information so that prospective customers buy the right device for their network.
