Xiaomi have announced the details of their LTE Redmi Note which will cost just 999 Yuan and will be available from August 12th.
The first and most important details is that the Redmi Note is that will it work with LTE networks outside of China? Well we believe support could be a little hit and miss depending on where you live (Xiaomi haven’t announced which bands the Note will use yet). As far as we know at this time is that the TD-LTE version will launch on 12th August, while the FD-LTE will be available from 26th August. The FD version will also have WCDMA 3G support as it is designed for use on China Unicom networks.

Changes to the Redmi Note LTE over the 3G version include a change to a Snapdragon 400 processor running at 1.6Ghz, slightly lighter (10g lighter) body, and only a single SIM card bay. The rest of the hardware remains the same with 2GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel main camera.
Prices will be unchanged with the phone costing 999 Yuan (the same as the current 2GB RAM Note).
Expect Chinese phone resellers to have the Redmi Note LTE on sale by the end of the month.
