Invites for a Huawei event are being circulated, one that’s supposed to take place 4th September. These invites clearly give away a crucial piece of info about the phone(s) that’ll launch on that day – fingerprint sensor.
While what exactly the two devices will be is yet to be seen, we’ve managed to get hold of a couple of peek shots at one of the phones. As you’d expect the phone, in its sanctuary, is protected by heavy camouflage to help keep the design a secret until launch. However, the pictures almost confirm the existence of a fingerprint reader on the device.
Gizchina News of the week
As seen in one of the pictures, the device will have a 1280 x 720p display, a 1.6GHz processor and 1GB of RAM along with 16GB of on-board ROM. It’s clearly going to be a mid-ranger, but the fingerprint reader should spark some interest.
China’s Elephone (among other companies) have managed to pull off what Huawei are reportedly trying here. Do you think there’s a market for mid-range smartphones with fingerprint readers?
