Gionee’s budget Pioneer P4 just got an Android v4.4 KitKat update from the Chinese maker, for the Indian market.
The Pioneer P4 is a solid budget smartphone, now made better with the availability of Android v4.4 KitKat. Gionee has been active in providing software updates for its phones, which is a good sign. The Pioneer P4 is one among many other Gionee phones to feature a MediaTek chipset.
It comes with the quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582V, and with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage, makes for a serious Moto G killer. The Pioneer P4 goes for 9,199 INR or $150, a price range that’s now being threatened by 2GB RAM phones like the ASUS Zenfone 5.
