OPPO Neo 3 now on sale in India for $181

While local and Chinese makers fight the price war in India, OPPO seems happy in its own merry world. The Chinese phone maker today announced the OPPO Neo 3 which is another ‘budget’ offering.

The Neo 3 succeeds the previously announced Neo, but even then has a lot in common. There’s a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, a 1.3GHz dual-core CPU and a gig of RAM that headline the specs sheet on the Neo 3, certainly not making for a pretty picture when you consider the 10,990 INR or $181 price tag it has launched with.

Gizchina News of the week

Specifications

  • 4.5-inch 854 x 480p display
  • 1.3GHz dual-core CPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB on-board ROM
  • 5 mega-pixel rear camera
  • 2 mega-pixel front camera
  • 1900mAh battery
  • Android v4.2 Jelly Bean

We really don’t see anything in the Neo 3 that would make buyers consider this an option. If you’re a resident of India on the lookout for a budget smartphone, we reckon you hold out for the Redmi 1S that is slated to go on sale in a couple of days.

I understand they are good quality phones, but for 180 dollars there are much much better options than this low specs shit. 5MP camera at 180$, c’mon man, let’s be realistic. If it was 100$, maybe i’ll buy it. Oh, and it’s dual core, now i saw it.

Taking the Indians for a ride, out of their own money is what nearly every company is doing.. this is also no exception.. peddling obsolete and overpriced stuff without anything substantial inside.

This is no match for the Redmi1s. I would rather buy a Jiayu G2f.
