Chinese OEMs are fleeing to India, or so it appears! After OPPO, Gionee, Xiaomi and a tonne other small-time Chinese brands launched devices in India, here comes one from ZTE. Although ZTE has been operating in India since quite a while, the company hasn’t really been in the limelight… before today perhaps.
We’ve seen the ZTE V5 before. The version for India is seen as a potential Moto G (that’s on the verge of retirement) and Redmi 1S rival, although it costs quite a bit more than the latter. The V5 is priced at 10,999 INR or $181, and comes with a 5-inch HD display and Snapdragon 400 quad-core CPU headlining its specs sheers. Not the most VFM phone out there, it still does better than the OPPO Neo 3…

‘Soul of a camera, body of a smartphone’ is how ZTE refer to the V5. Strictly speaking with on-paper specs in consideration, the V5 does look like one among the better camera phones. But as it stands, there are 13 mega-pixel cameras and there as 13 mega-pixel cameras. Fortunately for us, we know it comes with an f/2.2 aperture which certainly isn’t the best. The question is, how well it does in comparison to other phones in its range!
