This past week while Meizu, Huawei and Apple were making noise with their new launches, Xiaomi made a small announcement of their own. The release of the LTE Xiaomi Mi4.
The Xiaomi Mi4 that was on sale previous to this past week was only compatible with GSM and 3G networks, the newly released model however is the true flagship version with LTE support.
Gizchina News of the week
The bad news is the LTE model is said to only work with China Mobile LTE, which is TD-LTE and not widely used outside of the country. International customers wanting a 4G Xiaomi Mi4 will want to wait until a China Unicom LTE version is released later in the year.

I am wondering why the black version is still not available since the release of the phone. I am really tired to wait for it, I don’t know which phone to buy now.
Oppomart says ‘end of this month’.
Thank you but I am seriously thinking to buy the LG G2 (32GB) around 300ā¬. With Xiaomi we never know, they give a date and it is all the time pushed further. I am done to be patient and I swear that I was motivated to try a Xiaomi product for the first time. If they wanna play the same strategy like Apple in terms of sales, they should keep their phones. I have no time to waste.
Okey i will buy an meizu mx4 now i don’t want to wait any longer..
Xiaomi marktet strategy is so so strange…..
many of us hate it. it’s named as “hunger marketing”
Do you know how its called? 6795 and 810 its on the way! And Meizu MX4 in the stores. So I cant wait for Xiaomi to put lte with 2 years delay!
Hey Andi, I am living here in China and was wondering if there were some sort of preregistration needed before being able to order the phone?
Hope you have time to gimme a hint.
Thx,
Jerome
You will need to preorder or message the team at mifunn.com on taobao and get them to send one over. It’s an English speaking guy who sells phones out of Shenzhen.
Nop, I only gonna buy from them directly. Not gonna deal with cheap f*** who are likely to send you knock out phones or real with higher price tag.
if you want to buy the phone directly from xiaomi you need to register as xiaomi member then preorder beforehand and begin to log in mi.com every Tuesday. the rush buy will begin from 12:00 pm. but it’s hard to get one even our Chinese š just wait until it’s easier
