Breaking, Meizu MX4 pricing includes import tax and shipping!

Meizu have updated details of the Meizu MX4 pricing which makes the price a little easier to swallow for international customers in certain parts of the world.

In China the Meizu MX4 costs from just 1799 Yuan, where as for international customers the cost is from $449 or 2700 Yuan. Obviously fans around the world were a little put off but the new high price has been explained making it easier to understand.

In a Facebook post this morning Meizu reconfirmed that the Meizu MX4 pricing includes international shipping, but as a surprise they have also announced that import tax is also included to customers in certain parts of the world.

The whole of Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand are the main markets where customers will only have to pay the price of the phone to Meizu, and shipping and tax will be included in the price. Meizu are also asking fans who are not sure if their country is included to contact them ASAP for confirmation.

Other benefits include the peace of mind that you have bought your phone from the manufacturer, and that you will have a full and valid warranty.

I don’t know, almost 1000 yuan more expensive for shipping and taxes, while most of the chinese resellers have free shipping?

  I think Meizu offering fast shipping is a good choice in their situation. You don’t know for certain when your package will arrive in the free shipping option, could be 2 weeks or 4 weeks and longer. Customers will most likely will complain about that

    If you know when you buy a phone that free shipping will take 2 -4 weeks, whats to complain about, you usually have to option to updade to an express service, some people are happy to wait a few weeks to save on shipping costs. They should give people the option. Taxes is a grey area also, why should I pay taxes on a purchase when there are no import taxes from my country. Every country it seams has different taxes, so why are all customers being charged a flat rate tax?

When i buyed Nibiru H1 Mars I paid USD $100 for taxes to DHL, so I think the price is good. Don’t know if they consider South America.

Not relevant to Australia at there is no tax and duty on a phone at this price. Ripped off.

449$ for the 16GB version .. STILL EXPENSIVE! The price isn’t competitive at all!
aside from that , people may prefer normal shipment method that costs way cheaper.. not everyone is willing to pay +100$ for a DHL shipment….
I’ve been holding my fingers crossed for this phone for a long time but it seems like we have to wait for other flagships…
I really don’t like to say this , aside from all the troubles that Oneplus made me go through to buy my OPO , I think they have provided a better device for the price..
let’s hope IUNI provides a better international price ..

  64 GB is 380 Euro so 80 Euro more than 1+1. And thats final. No idea if 1+1 offers free shipping. It’s up to people to decide if 80 Euro more is worth the hassle with the invite.
  Also don’t forget that 1799 Yuan is price for the home market. Resellers will definietly bump it. Add to it tax and price will be sudenly not that much different.

      xD you can’t buy it because actually the 1st pieces has not shipped to the resselers yet and the prices for pre orders are too high. Try in early october from aliexpress or something.

    Did you read the article? 1799 yuan in China, 99% of the people here would live outside of china, thus having to pay the international price.

How the gonna return the import tax?? You cant sell a phone and say including import tax. If you want to tdo so you hahe to return the import tax to customer or lower the price for the import tax (in Germany this ist 19%)

  It is not a level playing field. Sweden has 25% tax, Switzerland 8% and some countries 0% yet everyone has to pay $449 for the phone. Really bad idea.

  i think that this extra price will be like US ebay solution, for example for europe, they will send all phones to one country ( UK, or else ), pay there taxes and ship item to customer.. very easy solution 😉

So I think international buyers will take MX4 at chinese stores, which will buy it for 1799 yuan and resell for 1200-1400 yuan. IMO

Hi, I work for DHL. In this cost there must be: 1) Transport as itself + 2) Custom clearance service fee + 3) Taxes of every country (f.e. Germany 19%, Spain 21%,..etc).
Normal “free shipping” public post companies skip the point 2 and the point 3 (specially if the shipment is declare as low value f.e. < 100 € and the point 1 is very cheap as instead of few days can be 20-45 days . Nevertheless the Express Courier companies are obliged to go to custom, so that why in our international shipments in most of the cases we have to pay extra charges.
It seems that taking into consideration all these costs Meizu have calculated an extra cost for the international.
In any case is frustrating that in the 2014 century we have this differences in the international trade. We would like to be in Chine to buy one!

  All the Chinese phones are normally intented for the Chinese market, I guess NFC usage is not popular yet in China.
