Elephone phone have come a long way in the past 12 months that we have known the brand, and are now looked to as one of the fast movers in the Chinese smartphone market, and 3 new models help to strengthen this.
A few years ago one of the most talked about phone makers from China was Zopo, however these details Zopo seem behind the times and are loosing market share against the likes of Doogee, KingSing, Kingzone and Elephone.
Elephone launched 3 new phones this week which has helped the brand increase their offerings to 18 devices, ranging from phones, a wearable and even a home monitoring system.
Elephone G4
The new ‘G’ range of phones starts with the 499 Yuan Elephone G4 with metal frame and comfortable curved rear panel. No prizes for guessing which phone have used as the inspiration of the G4!
Some might call the Elephone G4 a clone, but if you can look past the OnePlus One styling we do find some very nice features considering the low $80 price tag. First up is the use of a 5-inch 1280 x 720 HD display, quite unusually for the price! Android 4.4 Kitkat is also on board, as is a quad-core MT6582 processor, 1GB RAM, micro SD card reader and 8 mega-pixel main camera.
Full hardware specifications of the Elephone G4 are available here.
Elephone G5
Next in the range is the Elephone G5. Again we are looking at a OPO inspired phone, this time even down to the 5.5-inch display and dual LED flash on the rear. Elephone are even offering their own replaceable rear covers too in pink, purple, baby pink, yellow, green, blue and white.
Gizchina News of the week
Pricing is the major selling factor of the G5 with a Chinese retail price of just 599 Yuan, around $98.
The 5.5-inch display is again a 1280 x 720 panel, which for the price is a great choice. This time the phone also offers a larger 3020mAh battery, 13 mega-pixel main camera and 5 mega-pixel front, Dual SIM, micro SD and Android 4.4 Kitkat are also there too.
Elephone G5 full specifications.
Elephone G6
Finally we have the Elephone G6, which is a more original looking device when compared to the other ‘G’ series models, but still remains competitively priced. In China Elephone will be selling the G6 for 699 Yuan, with international pricing rumoured to be less than $150 through resellers.
Impressive specifications again this time with a 5-inch 1280 x 720 HD IPS display, 2250mAh battery, dual SIM, Micro SD card, Android 4.4 Kitkat, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and even a finger print reader on the rear.
As an added speed boost, the Elephone G6 has an octacore Mediatek MT6592 processor , but keeps with just 1GB RAM.
More Elephone G6 specifications here.
Elephone will be releasing each of the 3 models officially to international markets. Each phone support GSM and WCDMA networks.

Now if Android One was more like the G4…..
Anyway, very nice to get to those prices with 720p screens.
Umi C1 loosing “quad killer” status
Not LTE these days = No buy for me.
1GB of RAM is bad for health…
However prices are nice, and phones look pretty descent 🙂
No. 512MB is but 1GB not.
I partially agree, it’s OK for MT6582, but for MT6592 2GB is a must in my humble opinion, however for 150 bucks it might be worth a shot 🙂
G5 is quite nice if indeed it is less than $100 for us international buyers.
Problems with these C brands are, no support for newer Android OS, if there is a bug they wont fix it. Pay a bit more and get A brands, like Umi , Zte , Huawei etc.
