Chinese tablet maker Cube and Taiwanese chip maker Mediatek are joining forces to launch the world’s first LTE equipped Android tablet with 64Bit processor. Details of the Cube T7 below.
Big things are coming from China in the coming months. The first lot of MT6595 phones are just showing up and now we can begin to look forward to products based on the MT8752 and MT8732. These chips haven’t been in the spotlight as often as the MT6592, but with 64bit architecture is one we should all be looking at.
With a whopping 8 ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and a Mali 760 GPU clocked at 700MHz for these games you love, the MT8732 features 4 A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz and the same graphics powerhouse slowed down to 500MHz. The SoCs are supporting screens up to 1920 x 1200 respectively 1280 x 800 pixels and cameras up to 16 respectively 13 mega pixels. Both chips support TDD / FDD-LTE Cat-4 with up to 150Mbps downstream and 50Mbps upstream.
Gizchina News of the week
So what device can we hope to see all this power shoehorned in to soon? Well it isn’t a phone, but instead a 7-inch tablet from Cube named the Cube T7. This phablet will feature a huge yet gorgeous 7-inch JDI panel maxing out the chipset’s resolution at 1920 x 1200 pixels. Other specs most likely will be 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. In terms of camera and memory inventory Cube remained silent so far. We can expect more information about the Cube T7 to become available in “the month of news” October.
